Functional genomics encompasses gene discovery, gene expression, protein and nucleic acid structure and function, gene and gene product interactions, and genomic approaches to breeding and comparative studies relevant to ecology and evolutionary biology. Genome-wide screens: The Functional Genomics Shared Resource has developed the infrastructure necessary to conduct high-throughput screens, providing automated liquid handlers, cell platers and plate washers. For plate-based quantitative assays, we have the Cellomics high-content screening system, as well as multimodal plate readers. Functional Genomics Core The Functional Genomics Core provides state-of-the-art experiment planning, sample preparation, quality assessment, library construction, DNA sequencing, and data analysis services to DRC members.
